This early painting, by Allan Wright in 1963 when the artist was a 12 year old student, graces the hall of Eighth Avenue School. | The painting above, "Evening Grosbeaks" (1990) was donated to Eighth Avenue Elementary School by Allan Wright. |

Jessica States was a bright, energetic young student at Eighth Avenue Elementary School in the 1990's. She was just 11 years old when she disappeared from a local ball diamond where she was catching fly balls. The entire community greived when her body was found in the woods. |
In October of 1996 Eighth Avenue Elementary staff and students planted a tree in her memory at the front of the school. |
